阿辛-Vietnamese Cuisine
Tainan Restaurants
There's a Vietnamese restaurant in An Ping, right next to the An Ping Elementary School.
They have a delicious version of the obligatory pho-Rice noodles with beef, chicken or pork. A dish that I hadn't tried is Mi Tom-large fresh shrimp in broth with noodles
My favorite is the freshly made shrimp cakes, a flattened large meatball made with shrimp, breaded and deep-fried. Salt, oil and fresh shrimp, can't go wrong with that.
Please let them know you heard about the restaurant from the Tainan Bulletin.

If you're lucky, you might get some of the cook's fresh Vietnamese spring rolls.
They are plump fresh spring rolls with shrimp, glass noodles, bean sprouts, and basil leaves in rice-paper wrappers, the resultant combination a visual mirror-likeness to flowers pressed against glass. The traditional accompaniment is a peanut dipping sauce. At once salty and sweet, it's a refreshing snack or a light appetizer. They are made to order and should be eaten soon after being prepared to prevent the rice-paper from getting too chewy. They are rather laborious to make so she only makes them in the off-hours.

Robert, thx for posting the menu. Look forward to trying it if/when they reopen. Planned to go there for the first time today, but it is closed.
Called the number, the lady said they are closed, due to her being pregnant.
Ah well, chao fan again.

I found a good place just off of Jhonghua 2nd road, lane 266. It is just around the corner from where Carrefour is. It is authentic, not just a Taiwanese version. Which never really tastes quite right. I am picky, I use to work in a Vietnamese restaurant back home. And make really excellent Pho. This place is not afraid to put salt in the food. Thank god.
