Pat Brooks Kung Fu Academy In Taiwan
Tainan Recreation-Sports Clubs
Pat is an American who has been practicing Kung Fu since 1979 and is currently studying under 69 years old Master Yuen Man Kai is the student of Northern Mantis Kung Fu style.
Check out Pat's website at www.ponglai-kungfuacademy.com
and videos of his Shifu at www.youtube.com/agakf
They meet several time during the week around Tainan, Sunday mornings at the 7th Day Adventist church next to the Tainan City Gods Temple (top floor) and some parks during the week. Everyone is Taiwanese except for Pat, there are a couple of brilliant ladies, but their Shifu does and has taught other foreigners. Some of the Taiwanese commute from Kaoshiung. Their Shifu is harder than nails and a nice guy. If you want more than a workout connect with Pat.

Does anybody know if Pat is
Does anybody know if Pat is still around in Tainan? I attempted to contact him via an email address on his website and did not receive a reply. I have just arrived in Tainan and have been looking for somewhere to practice martial arts so any info would help.
Thanks!
I spoke with Pat a while
I spoke with Pat a while back and he referred me to Master Shi in Yongkang. His number is 06 2030226/0915326728. He is very well known in Taiwan it looks like as a Kungfu master (lots of Youtube videos). I met with him recently at his training facility and would definitely recommend him. He has a number of foreigners training there now, has been doing it for 20+ years, and I can't imagine there are many places better than his.
Response much appreciated
Response much appreciated and I'll give him a call though I'm a bit worried about my Mandarin / price considerations. You sound like you've looked into martial arts here so if you know of anywhere else at all in the city I'd love to check it out. Either way thank you much.
