I had to get a document translated and notarized and asked around. Ta-Tung was recommended to me by lots of people and they did a good job for me too. [Directions courtesy of Charlene Mitchel]:

If you take Jian Kang Road all the way out towards the beach. You will see the Tainan City Court house on your right. Go just past the courthouse and take your first right. You will see a block of new houses on your left, take the first left. There is an empty lot on your right, they are building a parking lot. Go straight and take the first left. You'll see Da Tong Translation Service on your right.

The exact address is:
10 Yu-Ping 2nd Street. Lane 17
297-4973 or 298-0088

I didn't want to trust the work to a friend as it was a rush job [within a day] for my APRC, and so just asked about the rate for the document rather than the words. It was barely a side of A4 and it was expensive, NT$1,600, including notarization.

It's not for fun, but they did exactly what I wanted and I'm getting my APRC.

I vaguely remember spending upwards of 1000 just for notarization at The American Embassy (trade and culture office).

There's notarization service

There's notarization service available in the Tainan City courthouse too. I think it's only available in the morning. They can notarize documents in English and it was accepted by the government in the US. Very friendly and quick.
