I can recommend this place.  Because they're not quite on Haian Rd., they don't have as many people coming in as they could.  However, they were wonderful when I went there.  They didn't have one of those high "minimum" charges.   My experience is the people there are friendly, willing to speak English, but if  you're tired of speaking English, they're willing to let you try your Mandarin on them, too.  Great place!  Also, open nice and early, too.  (Sometimes I don't feel like waiting til 9 or 10 to hang out somewhere.)

Beautiful decor too. It mixes modern with traditional Chinese.

The owner and his wife are cool folks. Very chill and welcoming. He custom built a faux-temple in the place. Worth checking out.

Yeh, I've been here twice, really cool and friendly place. No door charge either time (Friday night).
