DIYA (NOW CALLED PRADA) MUSIC LOUNGE CLUB

Tainan Bars and Pubs

Average: 3 (2 votes)

DIYA MUSIC LOUNGE CLUB. Upscale music place, with a small dance floor. Audience - mostly Taiwanese and Japanese. They usually have 4 hours of music every day, starting from 10 PM. There is a singer, accompanied by a keyboard player. Or, a violinist, accompanied by a guy playing the sax.

Tonnes of women there to please ya (don't take your girlfriend there, for it would be your last night out in town). Their job is to sit and drink with you. On any given day, there are at least 2 who can speak english. The point man there is Dennis. He speaks fluent english, but is leaving for China, at the end of the month.

Older men go there, to dance the night away with the women present there - ever pleasing. Minimum charge is $600. Beers are $200 each. A night can easily run ya $2000 - just drinking. Cocktails are between $350 to $500 each. Superb music scene. Closes at 3 AM. I have no idea if the gals can be brought home. I have never tried that there. However, I was told by Dennis, they are strictly in-house, to drink and entertain (dance). I have been there several times. Nice, clean place for adults, no fights, laid back environment.

ADDRESS: 2F, NO.325, SEC 3, JHONGHUA EAST ROAD, EAST DISTRICT, TAINAN CITY 701. TELEPHONE: 06-3362098. CLOSES AT 3 AM.

The last musical hour of the evening, from 1 AM to 2 AM, is hosted by a guy named Jeff. Superb violinist. He is accompanied by a sax player. Jeff used to entertain crowds at Pioneer. He may still be working there (not sure). Speaks english, and has been playing the violin, since he was 16. Heard he was even better, in his earlier years.....drinking did him in. Great place to take a date, IF she dosen't mind "other women present."

With a strong alcohol budget

With a strong alcohol budget for me and several "buy-me-drinkies" for the in-house girls, hell, this spot is on my Tainan list, but if I get married next summer....nnnn.....?

Heard there has been a name

Heard there has been a name change (ownership?), can't confirm! Haven't been there in a while, was told about it!
