Anyone is welcome to post readings that deal with the situation in Taiwan. These would be most appreciated:

1) Reviews of current things happening around the island - cultural events, social trends etc.
2) Treatment of Taiwan in foreign media (i.e. in Japan, China , US...).
3) Academic articles on the society, economy, history, geography etc
4) Remarkable translations from Chinese or Taiwanese

Every two months there is a lottery in Taiwan. By matching the last several numbers (or all of the numbers) from your receipt, you can also win some cash just by shopping at a store that provides legal receipts. Foreigners can legally win this lottery!

Match all digits of the grand prize number to win NT$2,000,000

The following applies to the other numbers (but not the grand prize number)
Match the final 7 digits and win NT$40,000
Match the final 6 digits and win NT$10,000
Match the final 5 digits and win NT$4,000
Match the final 4 digits and win NT$1,000
Match the final 3 digits and win NT$200
