I am Daniel Ouellette and I am a volunteer emergency coordinator for the Canadian government in Tainan. I have been teaching in Taiwan for the past 12 years and I am originally from Windsor, Ontario. In the case of a real emergency (ie. natural disaster, virus outbreak etc.) I will be the person to inform you as important information is promptly passed to me from the Canadian Trade Office in Taipei.

Any Canadian residing in Tainan who does not feel comfortable registering online for personal reasons, it is extremely important that you at the very least, send me an email stating your full name, physical address, cell phone number, and email address. This is for your personal benefit and safety. That is priority # 1.

All information will be kept strictly confidential and will not be shared with a third party. All contact information will be used strictly for the purpose of passing on important and useful imformation in the case of a real emergency.

If you are a Canadian, please help me to spead this message so I can help other Canadian citizens by informing them beforehand so all are well prepared in the case of a life threatning situation. Do not think for a moment that this is something that can wait for another day. The time to act is now. Carpe diem or "Seize the day".

I don't mean any disrespect, and neither am I saying that the above is NOT VALID AND TRUE. I simply want to state, that for the last 80 years, the yanks have been using the exact ploy, as above, to collect information, and keep track of Americans working abroad, in order to follow up with the IRS, as to who has been filing their tax returns every year, and who is not.

I know plenty of Americans who don't bother register with their embassies while working overseas. Reason? As above. Who would willingly want the IRS on their backs?

And once again, I am not stating that what Daniel is suggesting, is a bad idea, or in any way questioning Mr. Ouellette integrity. Those who wish to do so, as suggested above - please feel free.

Private messages can be useful in a number of ways. One, to
communicate discreetly among friends here, and two, to use the
classifieds without disclosing personal information to everyone.

When you make a classified ad, you can leave out your personal info
if you choose, and instead ask people to private message you. there,you
can make arrangements for whatever it is that you are doing.

If you want to make a private message, you must know the user's name
that you wish to message. When someone makes a post, their name will be
attached to the page and you can click on it. On that page there will
be an option to private message the user.

You can also type in a URL with the user name you wish to private
message. For example, if you wanted to private message me, you could
type in http://www.tainanbulletin.com/user/jazz . You can change the name Jazz to the user name you are looking to find.
