There are several different ways to make posts to this site. In our efforts to keep things as simple as possible, there won't be an overwhelming number of options but in our effort to organize things we have had to create several ways to input for the users.

Option 1

Create a Classified Ad

You can click on the link above or from the left sidebar under create content. You will need to enter the title, choose the type of classified ad you are entering and then enter the content of the ad. Classified ads will last for 15 days, and you will receive an email warning 3 days before it expires. If you still are in need you can create another ad when the original expires. Please don't create duplicate ads.

To better reach your intended audience, it is important to select the proper category to place your ad.

Option 2

Create a directory listing

One of the biggest problems about being a foreigner in Taiwan is not knowing where to go to do simple tasks. Eating, checkups, and recreations can all become hardships when you are new to a place. You can add establishments to this page and help your fellow travelers put and also support good businesses that could use the help.

When adding this content type, please be as informative as possible. Address, phone number, and a thoughtful description are essential things to add. You can also add hours of operation, days closed, the email address, website, English speaking level, If they have an English menu, and even 2 photos of the place and/or the menu.

Option 3

Create a discussion

Here you can write about topics of interest to you. People can add comments to your post and create a discussion about the topic. Please review the terms of service before posting or commenting here. In the past there have been posters that only want to anger the community. We will do our best to prevent this.

Option 4

Create a group

Here you can create a group based on interests (or any other common theme). You can make posts to the groups by clicking the Create a discussion link, writing the post, and then checking which group (you must be subscribed to a group in order to see it as an option) you wish to post to. If you don't check any groups the post will be made available to everyone, not only group members.

Option 5

Create a poll

This is a good option if you want to get the pulse of the community regarding a specific issue. When you go to create a poll, the options should be fairly straightforward. You can also create a poll specifically for a groups.

Option 6

Create a Photo

You can post an image and a writeup using this option. Please keep the file sizes down, as sometimes larger files will cause a problem and not be able to be uploaded. Also, only one photo can be uploaded this way to each post, so please upload your favorite, special, and more importantly best photos here. It may take a little while to upload it depending on your Internet speed and the size of the file, so please be patient.

File sizes around 300 KB and less should work fine.

Option 7

Create a video

You can go to these 3rd party video hosting sites, copy the embed code or URL and add the video to this site. Write a description of the video and add the URL or embed code and you are set. Video sites that are supported here are:

YouTube, Google, Live Video, MetaCafe, MySpace and Revver

Please don't try to post videos from other sites. They won't work.

We request that you try and stay on theme with videos about Taiwan, but realistically you can add great videos of just about anything.

Option 8

Create an event

Events are a way for users to let others know about cool happenings, such as cultural events, music shows, plays, festivals, art exhibits, and whatever other organized happenings occur. Get the word out!
