Check out the free stuff at the site. The best book I've seen for a foreigner learning Chinese, on a par with the Zhong Wen black and white dictionary that breaks down all the characters.

Thank you so much to everyone who has expressed interest in this book. It means a lot to me. Very Practical Chinese is a group project, the result of three years of hard (but very rewarding!) work. While I am the author, I also have two amazing editors - both of whom have been Chinese teachers for ten years each. They were integral to this project from the beginning, and they are the reason that I will stand behind every word in this book. I really believe that the juxtaposition of a foreigner/local; student/teacher; 2nd language/native speaker perspective gives this book an unparalleled quality and authenticity - quite simply, there's nothing else like it on the market.
