Tainan City New Year's Countdown

12/31/2009 - 19:00
01/01/2010 - 01:00
Come and say goodbye to the aughties and welcome in 2010 with the city gov't. This year should be big because they're combining the city and county celebrations into one big one at city hall. (Twenty ten? Two thousand and ten?)
Ang Lee's supposed to be making an appearance and there's guaranteed to be enough sticky-sweet mandopop to give you cavities to ring in the new year. In addition, there'll be the obligatory food stalls and fireworks show. I'll be the guy taking hits of the champagne with 3 kids in tow. Hic! See you there! :-)

Do you know if the trains will be running late that night? Need to get to Shanhua or Sinshi after the party.
