Mid Autumn Festival - Chinese Moon festival

09/14/2008 - 00:00
The date of this years Moon Festival is on Sunday, September 14th. I like to call it national barbecue day as well, for the simple fact that 120% of the people choose to barbecue on this day. I think there are laws against this now as the amount of smoke between the barbecues, burning of ghost money, and fireworks is stifling. Don't worry though. The girl that told me about the law also said nobody pays any attention to it. Make sure to have your iron lung ready.
If you aren't doing anything, going to Golden Beach is a nice option. It will be packed, and loads of people will be barbecuing, shooting of fireworks, lighting lanterns into the sky, and just playing around on the filthy beach. Bring a camera that can take decent night photos and enjoy the fireworks.
