Feature Film Extras wanted Sunday Tin Pan Alley
09/26/2010 - 17:00
A couple of guys from the States are coming through Tainan to shoot a scene in their road movie. They are currently filming around Taiwan with some scenes being shot in Taidong as you read this. It is a super cool script with some familiar activities for those of us who drink alot of alcohol and do stupid shit. The basic plot is the death of a friend of two expat teachers in Taiwan prompts the two to find the perfect burial spot for their loner-without-family-back-home buddy. The pair then proceed to drink and party their way around Taiwan driving a little blue truck with the corpse on ice in the back, and their escapades are dark but humorous. In one of the final scenes of the movie a Japanese rockabilly band is playing @ Tin Pan Alley. The band is FullHouse. They'll be shooting this film most of the day and evening @ Tin Pan this Sunday. What this means is, we need a good crowd of folks, but we can't have it out of control. When they are shooting, the noise level of even conversation or whisper needs to be absolutely under the command of the director. It's a real movie set. We want to see people who like good films and who would like to help make this scene work come out and have a beautiful day and maybe learn a bit about how movies are shot. I'm stoked to have this happening at Tin Pan. So stoked that we'll make beers for everyone involved cheap that day. Taiwan draft beer for 60 Nt. Only about 25 people are likely to be in the film as extras, but anyone else is more than welcome to enjoy the cheap beers and watch from the second floor or check out FullHouse rocken it from behind the scene. This is going to be a pretty cool experience, but I urge you to follow the directors directions so he can shoot this film successfully. If he succeeds, let's wish him luck to get this thing shopped out to the right distributors in the States where he works in the film industry, and maybe see ourselves on the big screen at Sundance. That's the idea. Cheers and hope to see you out on Sunday. Darin

This event may be postponed
This event may be postponed until sometime during the week, I just talked to the director, and they are a bit behind schedule. I'll keep you posted. The beer deal goes with the filming, but we always do Budweisers for 70Nt on Sundays.
