I was down there this weekend and 95% of places are fully booked unless you want to stay in 4star places paying 5 star rates for the weekend. I have 7 rooms reserved until Monday night. If past that, I can't help at all.

For those of you who are new to Taiwan, Spring scream is the closest thing you get in Taiwan to a spring break style atmosphere. Definitely a fun time!
A lot of people camp but 35 degrees is not that easy to sleep in.

Only one hotel room left. 2 double beds, sleeps 4 people. $10200. Hotel is just off the main strip, 5 min walk to the main beach.
lots of camp sites, and some provide tents for an extra few hundred.

Bus down has 12 seats left. Total time 2.5-3 hours.
Return has 8 seats left. Total time...who cares, you'll be nice and relaxed and not fighting anyone for a seat.

Other routes down.

Train to Kaohsiung, transfer and then take a mini bus or taxi. $450 total one way. Total time, 3.5 - 5 hours depending on traffic and bus stops.

Return leg, if you can get a taxi the price will be a lot higher as there will be far too many people fighting for a taxi or for a seat on a bus. but around the same cost or a few hundred more per person. Total time 4-5.5 hours including waiting for a cab or bus.
