RE: Does anyone know where there may be some High End audio stores here?

Hi People

I'm looking around for some good quality home speakers for my place. Not your typical stuff but maybe speakers around the $15,000 - $20,000 NT range. Shops that deal in used High End audio equipment is OK too.

Japanese department store is wwwwaaaayyyy overpriced. $250,000 NT for a McIntosh amplifier?

get a local to help you and

get a local to help you and get it on-line from yahoo auctions. I've never had a problem and you save around 20%. Cause this way the shop owner still sells it, but doesn't let the other customers know. ie...sneaky bosses, just making money, but with out lowering actual in house prices.

good luck, and C.O.D. I still don't trust the other way.

I know of one on Zhong Yi

Submitted by robert on Thu, 06/26/2008 - 08:34.

I know of one on Zhong Yi Road across the street from the Jin Wan Zi used book shop at the corner with You Ai Street. There's also another one on Min Tzu near the old Mitsukoshi towards the intersection with Zhong Shan road.

You really have to decide

Submitted by alunarnold on Mon, 07/07/2008 - 20:43.

You really have to decide what brand you want as many of them deal only with certain brands. I know of three shops and one of them is just fitting in a system for me. I gave him a price and he gave me my options.

What are you after? Just speakers or everything, amp etc?

Eg. the guy at the end of Linsen road, go under the railway and it is up on your left is Bose and B and O where as the guy round the corner from me is Yamaha and onkyo(Chang jung road)near the university. And so on. They all have catalogues if you tell them what you want but make sure you shop around.

Hi People Thanks for all

Submitted by McLovin on Tue, 07/08/2008 - 13:17.

Hi People

Thanks for all your help. It's greatly appreciated.

I'm actually looking for just speakers right now. Higher end than Bose or B&O. Since I already have a Japanese Nakamichi amplifier here, a nice set of B&Ws 685s, Quad 12L's, or Epos M12s would be a nice addition. Yamaha and Onkyo don't have the quality and build I'm looking for.

I'm also looking for a Taiwanese Class-T amplifier by the name of Trends or Pop Pulse. They run for about $150 in Canada but I haven't seen the amplifier in Taiwan (although I do know it's made here).

I guess I'll just keep looking.....

thanks again people...
