Killer Pizza and kick ass Mexican food
Hello to everyone, I noticed alot of interest in pizza awhile back and just wanted to let everyone know that I have been at the nightmarkets regularly for about 2 months. I have seen a few foreigners and the numbers seem to be going up as the response is what you would expect for a gourmet style pizza served at night market prices. Is it killing me to be giving pies away at these prices? Yes! In order to make a living selling pizza at these prices I need to sell about 100 per day. I am at about 50-60 a day right now and my bank account is dwindling. As per norm at the night market, the profit margin is very slim and you have to rely on sheer volume to make bank. Yes, this is an appeal to your good graces to come help me save my business and it is a suggestion that you really are going to be hard pressed to get a better deal on quality food. We do Mexican wraps and tons of different flavors of pizzas and we have Mexican rice and red and black beans. We will be doing home made sausages and hot dogs starting this week, and we occasionally have authentic Masala Chai or Indian Milk Tea. All of our toppings and items are made from scratch and fresh daily. It seems strange to me how busy we are but how little it seems to mean for us financially. We need you guys to come out in mass. I promise to make the best pie you are going to find on the island, and some people say one of the best in the world. Now, help a brother and his business out and come get your dinner at DA DONG nightmarket every Monday, Tuesday and Friday, and WU SHENG every Wednesday and Saturday. We will be opening a restaurant as soon as possible, but until we do I am afraid you have to trudge it to the nightmarket to find the answer to the question of "Where is the best pizza in town ?" We do 7 ", 10", 13", and 15" as well as pizza by the slice. Come out come out wherever you are. Sincerely, Darin the pizza truck guy who loves you

I'm doing my bit. See you
I'm doing my bit. See you on Wednesday, Darin.
Hard to say the best in the world but that's not a complaint. When I hear pizzas here in Tainan, I usually think of the heavy, cheesy, salty fast food styles.
They're in a category of their own. There's a lot going on with every bite. You'll first notice a fresh, slightly chewy, slightly crunchy(?) whole wheat in the dough. Then, instead of a heavy tomato/marinara inspired sauce of typical pizzas, there was a light pesto instead. Again, fresh and obviously homemade. Then there's a long list of high quality ingredients. I last time I went, I got a vege one and a sausage one. I think the sausages were South African boerewors.
I shared the pizzas with my kids and wife who loved them as well. I try to make it a point to share with the wee ones what makes good food good and this was a great opportunity.
(On a separate note, while I was explaining, the kids simply nodded and kept eating. Apparently my fatherly wisdom left them intellectually stimulated enough that they didn't even bother to ask me to discuss what ingredients were producing the umami in the dish. I'll leave that for another day, lil' ones.)
This guy loves to cook and it shows. If you haven't tried his pizzas, give 'em a whirl. If you have, show the bro some love and treat yourself again.
Shall do Darrin, definitely!

where is the da dong night market? I'm ok-ish with my way around the city/districts, but have no idea where to go tonight.
Da-Dong is the one on
Da-Dong is the one on Linsen, near the intersection with Chongde/Changrong, opposite the park. Hope that helps.
Eating Carrots? No need to
Eating Carrots? No need to reply further Bugs. ;)
I just sampled the Mexican
I just sampled the Mexican pizza and loved it. I'm going back Tuesday to get another.
Last Saturday my wife went
Last Saturday my wife went to Wu Sheng and couldn't find Darin. Then tonight we both went. We scoured the place but couldn't find Darin anywhere. There was one Chinese vendor selling these odd-looking Chinese-i-fied bastardized pizza-ish creations -- more like a flatened Chinese-ish calzone filled with taro and other "who-in-frozen-over-hell-thought-that-would-taste-good-in-the-first-place-and-what-twisted-taste-buds-would-actually-PAY-to-eat-that?!?" Chinese-styled-flavored-filling in the crust, with cheese blended with other scary things baked on top.
Darin, are you still doing night markets? If you are, we've been trying to support you but can't find you. Exactly where are you located at the Da Dong and Wu Sheng night markets? We've been dying for some DECENT pizza and/or mexican food.
Hey, same thing happened
Hey, same thing happened to me today while I was dying for some good pizza( 2 food I'm craving the most ever since I lleft the states are Vietnamese food and Pizza), so I used my main means of transportation around the city/ my 2 foot, stroll down to DA DONG nightmarket, circled around for about five times and only see this deep fried pizza which I had yet to classfied it's origin, and no where to be found is the decent pizza I'd expecting to find, so uh.......what's up with this? From the way I see it, it seems like all the vending spots' been taken, please don't give me any bad news, any updates? As far as the Vietnamese food goes, I can not go there everyday, or I might give those cute girls the wrong impression. Help! please.
So is he in town? or did he
